Love, love, loving summer! Sleeping in, doing whatever we want, when we want. No silly school to tie us down! (The only hazard of summer is the inevitable grocery shopping! I ended up with both, yes both chicken nuggets and corn dogs in my cart this week. sigh...) 
This is the year of National Parks. Within a one year period we will have been to The Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and Yellowstone National Park. I love camping. Someday I hope to have a tent trailer but, for right now we get tent camping. No bathrooms that aren't at least 200 feet away, no heaters or showers. 
We stopped at an awesome rest stop on the way down. Why is it that we haven't ever stopped here before? I don't know but, the kids loved it. Part of the stop was necessitated by the fact that Kyle got carsick and threw up all over. Yuck. 
The kids had a great time climbing and jumping from the tree. Well, the boys jumped. Jessica wasn't in to it.

We went on a couple of hikes and the kids did pretty good. I was suprised. I thought for sure Dan would end up holding them or we would have a major melt down. Jessica was really into finding cool places to pose in front of. I chose just a few pictures to show because there were about 20 or 30 of them.

On Saturday we were all tired. So, after packing up all our camping stuff we decided to take it easy. The kids had seen a "trading post" with cute little buildings and a petting zoo on our drive in. SO, we decided to stop. The kids loved it and it was only $1 per person!

It was nice to shower and know that I was going to sleep in a real bed that night and not one that is full of air! The kids were so excited to go swimming! Kyle couldn't wait and took off while we were putting on sunscreen. Luckily, he was wearing his life vest. Dan found him in the middle of the pool. It was Ellie's first time swimming.
